what is fps?
Fruit Postal Service is a top-down battle racing game where you play as a member of the FPS, each trying to pick up and drop off the most packages in order to be crowned employee of the month! Choose Bandana-nana, Walter Melon, Jack (the Apple), or another quirky individual and use each of their unique fruity abilities to derail your fellow employees. Drop off the most packages by the time the match is done to secure the coveted title!
Behind the curtain
FPS started as a meshing of two idea’s between me and Co-Producer/Developer Chris DiNome. He had a concept for a multiplayer party game where you race to pick up and drop off objects. I had a concept for an arena multiplayer fruit-boxing game. And there it is! Adding to the ranks two more phenomenal devs and crazy-skilled artist, we were equipped to bring a nutritious dose of fun to everyone’s computer.
Our biggest goal with FPS is to create a game that is simply fun and has no barriers of entry. As our developer Tyler brilliantly put, “Growing up with siblings 8+ years older than myself, sports were no competition. But video games, where I could at least develop my own strategies- now they were the great equalizer.” While players certainly can perfect their skills and be multi-month postal champions, Fruit Postal Service aims to be a game that is a blast for anyone to pick up, play, and enjoy with others. Characters are unique but not overcomplicated, and each lend themselves to different strategies for one-upping the competition. One day I hope in the future we can come together again for an enhanced version, featuring cut characters and maps that have their own kooky mechanics; Drawbridges, icy terrain, subway portals, and more.
